Solar & Battery Rebates

In WA, 2026

Three rebates, one no-interest loan, and the key 2026 program rules Perth homeowners still need to understand when pricing solar, batteries, and the balance after incentives.

Three Rebates. One Loan.

Here's The Full Picture

Perth homeowners installing solar and a battery in 2026 can combine multiple incentive layers, then use a no-interest loan to cover the remaining balance.

A typical 6.6 kW solar system in Perth can still receive around $1,600 in incentives when it uses CEC-approved products and is installed by an SAA-accredited installer.

Federal Battery Rebate

A New Home Battery

The Cheaper Home Batteries Program now supports battery storage through to 2030 but rebates decrease over time. Install before 1 May 2026 and rebates sit at roughly $300 per kWh, saving around $3,000 on a typical 10 kWh battery. After that date, the value reduces.

WA State Rebate

Extra WA-only Savings

On Top Of The Federal Rebate

Launched on 1 July 2025, the WA Residential Battery Scheme provides a state rebate for home batteries that can be combined with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, with funding for up to 100,000 installations.

Scannable Yes / No

Am I Eligible?

A quick self-check. If you can answer yes to the core items below, you are aligned with the federal plus WA rebate stack. The no-interest loan has its own additional income condition.

Do you own and live in your own home?

The rebates and loan are available to owner-occupiers. Landlords and tenants may have different pathways.

Is your combined household income below $210,000?

This is the income eligibility cap for the WA no-interest loan. The federal battery rebate and STCs have no income test.

Is your home in a Synergy or Horizon Power area?

Synergy covers the Perth metro/SWIS region. Horizon serves regional WA. Both administer the WA Battery Scheme.

Do you currently have a solar system, or are you installing one alongside the battery?

Battery rebates are primarily designed for solar-plus-battery installations. Battery-only is also possible in some cases.

Are you willing to join a Virtual Power Plant (VPP)?

VPP participation is a condition of the WA battery rebate under the current scheme rules.

Do you have a recent electricity bill showing your annual usage?

The loan assessment will look at your address, credit history, and ability to repay.

You Don't Fill Out A Single Form

Three rebates and a loan means multiple applications, SAA compliance, retailer approvals, and feed-in paperwork. The Perth office handles that stack in-house so the process does not land on your desk.
